Legendary rock band Simple Minds is gearing up to amplify their presence Down Under in 2024, adding 5 additional shows to their tour- including Adelaide in February.
After previously announcing four performances as part of the Red Hot Summer Tour, the band has just added five more Australian dates to their Global Tour itinerary next February. This expansion promises to make it their most extensive tour since the iconic 1985 spree.
Australian fans have a veritable feast of live music to look forward to. Apart from their gigs in Mornington, Rochford Winery, Sandstone, and Kings Park under the Red Hot Summer Tour banner, the band will also be lighting up iconic venues like the Sydney Opera House, where they’re scheduled for both early and late shows. Other cities on the list include Adelaide, Melbourne, and Queensland.
Following their Australian leg, Simple Minds will traverse the UK and Europe, with 24 dates chalked out. Cumulatively, through their Global Tour 2024, the band projects to perform for over a million ardent followers worldwide.
With a global footprint spanning over four decades, Simple Minds have etched their mark not only through chart-topping tracks but also through captivating live performances. Just in the last ten years, they’ve entranced hundreds of thousands internationally.
Their 2018 US tour saw them play to their largest American audience ever. As more and more fans yearn to hear classics like ‘Promised You a Miracle’, ‘Glittering Prize’, and ‘Don’t You Forget About Me’, the band’s reputation as one of the most dynamic live acts of their generation is cemented further.
Their studio accomplishments are equally impressive. Boasting over 60 million albums sold globally, they’ve also scaled the charts with numerous number one hits. But it’s not just nostalgia that keeps the band relevant; they’ve managed to evolve and remain significant in the contemporary music scene.
Their latest album, ‘Direction of the Heart’, stands as testament, reaching number 4 in the UK album charts and making top 10 ranks in multiple regions. - Sunday 18th February 2024: The Star Theatre, Gold Coast.
