Adelaide-based singer and ex-contestant from The Voice Australia, Mason Lloyde, is ready and pumped to release his first single “Free Man”, due to hit our favourite streaming platforms tomorrow (March 25th)!
Mason has conveniently lined the release up with his appearance at the Country by the River Festival, which is set to kick off on Saturday 26 March at Murray Bridge.
Free Man delves into the topic of self-worth, and not letting failure take control or hold you back. In other words, becoming free.
Produced by Adelaide local Israel Amoy, Mason & Israel knocked this one out while COVID was swallowing the local music scene in Adelaide.
At a young age, Mason taught himself how to play the guitar after being inspired by the King himself, Elvis Presley. Mason began developing his own sound and musical abilities, performing as a vocalist.
He now has a powerful and raspy voice with an impressive local range!
In 2020, Mason was a contestant on The Voice Australia, as part of Kelly Rowland’s team. Mason received a tonne of positive feedback from the judges.
“The new single ‘Free Man’ has actually been in the works for a while! It was written before my appearance on the voice and recorded over the past couple years,” said Mason.
“Kelly Rowland reassured me as an artist and confirmed I was travelling in the right direction within my musical abilities.”
Kelly described Mason’s voice to be “dynamic”, “elegant”, and “nothing like [she’d] ever heard before”. Fellow judge Delta Goodrem also described Mason’s performance as “phenomenal” and commented on his impeccable vocal range.
“My experience was definitely a positive one,” said Mason.
“My goal when auditioning for The Voice was to increase my exposure, meet and make some once in a lifetime connections and have a ball while doing it all. I ticked every box and I thank The Voice for that opportunity.”
