Adelaide Botanic Garden to host ‘Moonlit Knights’ under the Gemini full moon

This November, special evening event ‘Moonlit Knights’ will take place at the Adelaide Botanic Gardens under the Gemini Full Moon.

This November, when the Gemini Full Moon casts its glow over Adelaide, the city’s Botanic Garden will host a special evening under the stars: ‘Moonlit Knights.’

Orchestrated by accomplished pianist Emma Knights and taking place on the lawns to the South of the Museum of Economic Botany, the event is perfect for nature enthusiasts, music lovers, or people simply in search of a serene evening under the stars.

As night falls and the glow of the moon illuminates the garden, attendees will listen to not only the sounds of Emma’s enchanting piano renditions, but also a special performance by Hamish Netting on the cello.

Guests are encouraged to sprawl out on picnic rugs or recline in chairs under the canopy of stars, kick back, relax in the picturesque garden, and enjoy the music. And remember to dress warmly and bring blankets and cushions, because the gardens are known to get a tad chilly post sunset.

The Gemini moon is the final full Moon of the year, which is said to offer a refreshing breather from the emotional roller-coaster many might have experienced throughout the year.

A sign known for its sociable nature, Gemini prompts us to connect and share our energy with those around us. This Gemini full moon is festive and allows us to shake off any emotional baggage of 2022 and clear the way for new, vibrant energies as we step into the new year.

The Adelaide Botanic Garden is located in the heart of Adelaide, a sanctuary which offers visitors a delightful escape from the city’s hustle and bustle. Established in 1855, the garden has preserved and showcased a vast and varied collection of flora from around the world over the years.

If you’re in the mood for a stroll, the garden’s myriad pathways wind through themed sections. From the aromatic Rose Garden to the serene Japanese Garden, every nook and cranny offers a different experience.

Please note there will be no food or drink services available, so you’re welcome to bring your own food, however alcohol is not permitted.

Those looking to secure prime spots for this event are advised to arrive well before dusk. The Friends’ Gate will open its doors at 7:30pm, with music starting at 8pm.

Moonlit Knights is an inclusive event for people of all ages. Children below the age of two enter free. If the weather forecast predicts rain on the evening, the event will be cancelled.
