When it comes to getting married in Adelaide, there are very few locations that rival the stunning beauty of the Adelaide Botanic Garden. Famous for its manicured landscapes and charming heritage, all within an ideal CBD location, it has long been one of the most sought-after garden wedding destinations in SA. Now, couples are being invited to experience its charm in full.
On Sunday, May 3rd, the Botanic Gardens will open its gates for a Wedding Open Day, offering couples a behind-the-scenes look at what a wedding could truly look like. With a huge variety and volume of different ceremony locations, including The Summerhouse, Cycad Collection, Palm House Lawn, Barber Shop, International Rose Garden – Marquee venue location, Araucaria Avenue, North Lodge Lawn and Economic Garden.

The day has been designed with newly engaged couples in mind, giving visitors a chance to step into a real-life wedding setting. Guests will be able to walk through a selection of ceremony locations around the gardens and experience the Rose Garden Pavilion styled as a reception space.
On the day, there will also be a curated lineup of local suppliers giving couples the chance to discover South Australia’s best in the business. This will include florists, stylists, and entertainment providers, who will all have their work on show.
Of course, no wedding experience would be complete without a taste of what’s on offer. Guests will be welcomed with canapes on arrival and wines from South Australian producers Alpha Box & Dice and Bremerton.

Curated by Blanco Horner Weddings, which manages weddings within the gardens, the experience has been designed to feel relaxed and inspiring, just like the weddings themselves.
“The Wedding Open Day is designed to give couples a genuine sense of what their day could feel like within the Adelaide Botanic Garden,” shared Elana Cervantes, the Marketing & Business Development Manager at Blanco Horner. “It’s about stepping into the space, experiencing the atmosphere, and seeing how everything comes together – from ceremony through to celebration.”

The event is free to attend, with complimentary registration available online, and guests are encouraged to bring along a gold coin donation for Cancer Council. Those who register will also receive a bespoke goodie bag to take home.
With its ideal location just moments from the city centre, the Adelaide Botanic Garden provides a tranquil escape while remaining incredibly accessible for guests. It’s this ease, paired with natural beauty and an all-in-one offering, that continues to make it a standout choice for weddings.

So whether you’ve just said yes or are already well into planning, this is a chance to see one of Adelaide’s most iconic wedding venues come to life.
