After a run spanning over the decades, Cons Fruit & Veg will be leaving its central market home this Saturday.
The beloved stall, run by family Con, Lina, Peter, and Christina, has been serving top-quality fresh produce to generations of South Aussies. Adelaide Central Market announced the closure in a heartfelt Facebook post Wednesday, sharing that the family is retiring and expressing gratitude for their years of dedicated service.
“After nearly 45 years of providing fresh, quality produce to the heart of the Adelaide Central Market, Con, Lina, Peter, Christina and family are saying goodbye as they retire from trading. On behalf of all traders, we want to thank them for their being a part of the Market family.”
Loyal customers were quick to take to social media and share appreciation for the family and their service.
“We wish them all the best in their next chapter and want to sincerely thank them for their support throughout the years,” a customer shared to Facebook.
“We have shopped at your stall over many years. Always have been served by wonderful staff. Great products too. All the best in your next adventures. Thank you,” shared another.
As their final days approach, the Market rallies for you to come and say your goodbyes.
“Say your goodbyes, share memories. Your support has meant the world to them, and they would love to see you before they close this chapter.”
But it’s not all doom and gloom. While Stall 52 will close temporarily for a refresh, it won’t be empty for long. SA Central Fresh is set to take over, bringing another high-quality fruit and veg stall to the popular Market location.
