Adelaide Central Market is seeking new and exciting food producers to join the marketplace

Home to a new talented local producer, every 3 weeks, the Central Market is seeking exciting new food ventures to become the next producer in residence.

Calling all new food startups!  Join the Adelaide Central Market in 2022.

Home to a new talented local producer every 3 weeks, the Central Market is seeking exciting new food ventures to become the next producer in residence.

Producers can apply to join the markets online and are must be a new food business looking to test their products or ideas directly with customers, with no or limited existing stockists.

Since 2017, the Producer in Residence program has helped over 90 small, South Aussie food businesses test their products in the market and take their business to the next level.

Maria Durdovicova owner, chef and founder of Lato Cakery can attest to this.

Lato Cakery was the producer in residence last December and Maria says the opportunity helped grow her business.

“We were there for three weeks and we found new customers and found out what charmed them,” said Maria.

“Our new customers followed us on social media … after we finished at the Central Market they contacted us for orders and followed us to the Farmers Markets.”

Lato Cakery, who produce Slavic honey cake made using a traditional family recipe, only opened six months prior to their stint as the producer in residence.

“It’s good to trade there [Producer in Residence Stall]  for new businesses as it is good exposure and it is good training for small businesses. The three-week stay was good to train our staff for how busy it will be when we open a shop,” said Maria.

“I absolutely recommend other producers take up this opportunity.”

The Producer in Residence stall is home to small South Australian producers, start-up retailers and new eateries wanting to test their products and business ideas in the Adelaide Central Markets.

Located in the North West Grote Street entrance you’ll find a new passionate producer every three weeks.

Lato Cakery is located at 171A Magill Rd, Maylands SA 5069 and at the Adelaide Farmers Markets.
