South Australians can have fresh Market produce and specialty goods from the iconic Adelaide Central Market delivered straight to their front door, throughout the new lockdown announced today by Premier Steven Marshall.

The market itself will also remain open for business as an essential service, offering fresh produce from their stallholders.

If visiting the market in person shoppers must comply with the current restrictions, which include social distancing, wearing a mask at all times, QR code check-ins at each stall and consuming takeaway food and beverages offsite.

The Adelaide Central Market Authority (ACMA) launched a new online store last month, allowing customers to purchase Market goods for home delivery three days a week.

The brand-new service with Market traders handpicking the freshest produce and speciality products for next trade day delivery.

More than 1,300 products from over 44 traders can now be purchased online for home delivery, including fresh fruit and vegetables, Market favourite likes Lucia’s readymade meals and Les Deux Coqs patisserie, as well as staples like bulk health foods, freshly baked bread, coffee and milk.

A range of specialty items including cheese, meats and seafood will also be available.

Home delivery is available every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday afternoon, with orders placed by 11:00pm the night for next trade day delivery or plan ahead and select a preferred delivery date.

Customers can browse and purchase products from their favourite traders including House of Health Collective, Kangaroo Island Stall, Angelakis Bros, Mushroom Man Mushroom’s Shop, O’Connell’s Meats, Con’s Fine Food and 7 greengrocers including McMahon’s Fruit & Veg and Aubergines, selecting goods and a delivery date, all from the comfort of their living room.

Delivery is available within a 10Km radius of the Adelaide Central Market, at a flat rate of $10, and multiple orders can be made from a number of vendors in the same transaction.

ACMA General Manager Jodie Kannane was thrilled about the exciting new addition to the Market’s offerings.

“The Market’s new home delivery service will run in addition to current trading hours, giving customers who are unable to visit the opportunity to support local business and still have their favourite Market goods delivered in the comfort of home” she says.

“With a huge range of fresh produce and goods on offer, we’re very excited to now have our Market accessible online for weekly shoppers, delivering to those who may not be able to visit during trading hours.

“It’s never been easier to support our local traders and the extensive network of producers and growers who supply the Market.”
