From Tuesday 1 September 2015, the Adelaide Central Market will offer FREE parking after 3pm and before 6pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays during Spring.

Adelaide Central Market Authority General Manager Aaron Brumby said he hoped the initiative would encourage more city workers and users to visit the Market for coffee and shopping on their way home, parking at the city’s largest undercover casual carpark, the Central Market UPark.

In addition, parents can easily stop and shop at the Central Market after school with free parking from 3pm until 6pm.

“This is really great news for Market shoppers. We recognise that people shop more frequently during the week, on their way home, so this offer of free parking will encourage consumers to stop and shop at the Central Market. This free parking incentive is, to my knowledge, the only offer of its kind throughout the City of Adelaide,” he said.

“We will pilot the concept on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout September, October and November on a trial basis and assess its impact on Market trade at the end of the period.”

The Market is also dropping the Sunday flat fee from $6.50 to $5.00, which applies from 9am until midnight and is not limited to any time period.

“The Adelaide Central Market Authority is committed to providing a positive customer experience and this is one of many announcements that will be made to benefit shoppers in the coming months,” Mr Brumby said.
