Adelaide city’s Friday revival is in full swing, with long lunches, rooftop drinks, live music and luxury stays

Adelaide’s city centre is seeing a resurgence in Friday foot traffic and SkyCity is leading the charge.

Adelaide’s city centre is seeing a resurgence in Friday foot traffic, with SkyCity Adelaide leading the charge. The entertainment precinct is championing the end-of-week revival with a curated collection of Friday-exclusive food, drink, and stay experiences designed to draw city workers, weekenders and locals back into the heart of town.

In recent months, post-pandemic CBDs across Australia have been grappling with the challenge of enticing workers and revellers back into city spaces—especially on Fridays, once the cornerstone of inner-city vibrancy.

Now, SkyCity Adelaide is tackling that head-on with its new campaign, Fridays Your Way, turning a casual knock-off into a full-blown city experience under one roof.

“We wanted to bring the fun back to Fridays,” says Michael Neal, General Manager of Hospitality at SkyCity. “Whether you’re heading in after work or planning a day out, we’ve got something for everyone—from a $6 pale ale to a luxury stay at Eos.”

From midday, visitors can ease into the weekend with a luxe long lunch. iTL’s Bottomless Weekends pairs Italian classics with two hours of free-flowing Prosecco, Peroni, or spritz for $79pp. Over at Madame Hanoi, high tea gets a gin-soaked twist with three tiers of savoury and sweet bites served with Hendrick’s Gin tea for $69pp.

For those after a lighter option, The Guardsman’s $20 pub classics or iTL’s focaccia-stuffed paninis are perfect midday picks. And for an early start to the evening, iTL Alfresco serves $15 cocktails and aperitivo plates from 3pm.

Happy hour hits full stride from 4–7pm across SkyCity’s venues, with $6 drinks on offer at Chandelier Bar, The District, Westward, and The Guardsman. Those heading higher can catch the sunset with a $9 spritz at SOL Rooftop, where panoramic views stretch from coastline to hills.

Live music kicks off at The District from 5pm, while sports lovers can settle in at Adelaide’s only on-site microbrewery and sports bar, courtesy of Pirate Life. For dinner, options range from a porchetta and pinot pairing at iTL (from $45pp) to the indulgent multi-course Chef’s Table experience at The Kitchen.

For the late-night crowd, Madame Hanoi’s upper level glows red from 9pm onwards, offering cocktails, street-style snacks and moody beats well into the night.

And if the idea of rolling into the weekend without the Uber sounds appealing, a stay at Eos by SkyCity could be your next best move. Bed & breakfast packages start at $399 per night, with access to the award-winning leisure deck, sauna, spa, and more.

With something for all budget’s and an unbeatable location, SkyCity is positioning itself as the Friday headquarters Adelaide’s been missing.
