Adelaide Cult Favourite ‘The AB’ Also Comes In Pizza Form

Now this isn’t the first crowd pleaser that Roman’s has come up with – adding this dish to their epic giant 30cm parmigiana & chips, and of course, their popular pizza menu.

While the origins of the AB may be contested between cafes, there’s a general consensus that Adelaide’s cult fast food hero was created in North Adelaide decades ago, and the love for the kebab meat concoction has grown since then.

Generally served up as a mishmash of hot chips. kebab meat, chilli, BBQ sauce and garlic, the AB (Afterbirth/Abortion depending on who you speak to) has been a favourite for late night snacks, or hangover cures for as long as I’ve lived in SA.

Now it seems, there’s another way to enjoy the indulgent meal, with Roman’s Pizza in Salisbury and Modbury Heights serving up their own version of the classic dish – The AB Pizza.

Available in 9″ ($16.90) or 12″ ($21.90) pan size, the AB Pizza has a tomato pizza sauce base, cheese, onion, capsicum (and now for the good bits), lamb, chicken or combo, chips topped with garlic sauce, bbq sauce & hot chilli sauce. So basically a pizza/AB combo.

Does that make this the ultimate hangover cure?

But wait, there’s more.

They also do an AB Chicken Parmigiana, which its available for $21.90.

Now these aren’t the first crowd pleasers that Roman’s has come up with – adding these dishes to their epic giant 30cm parmigiana & chips, and of course, their popular pizza menu.

Roman Pizza has been around since early 1980 (and we love them because they were also one of the first places in Adelaide to start home delivery).
