SA entrepreneur launches brand empowering individuals to discover purpose and belonging through fashion

After years working within Adelaide’s music scene, entrepreneur Matt Battisti was looking for a creative, inspiring outlet, and launched his very own clothing brand.

After years working within Adelaide’s music scene, entrepreneur Matt Battisti was looking for a creative outlet outside of his usual interests.

With the goal of networking with Adelaide’s creatives, Matt decided to venture into unknown territory and start his very own clothing brand.

SOSSI was what came out of this pursuit, abbreviated to Start on Searching Somewhere Impossible, a nod to his own journey as a creative looking for an output.

Matt’s mission with SOSSI is to make fashion have meaning and purpose. SOSSI’s brand ideas came from the ability for anyone to wear black and white while still standing out, paired with the uniqueness and exclusivity that comes with wearing all one colour and style.

This idea came to Matt when he thought about the clothes he was wearing, questioning why he was wearing them, what it meant for the brands he was wearing, and that it meant that he was embracing this certain style into his everyday life.

With this idea in mind, Matt hopes to bring the opportunity to other Adelaide creative artists to collaborate with his brand in order to network and create a sense of community within Adelaide’s creative scene.  

This way, SOSSI can remain an uncategorised brand of clothing by being open to interpretation by others, allowing it to be seen seen as versatile. Matt also hopes this will allow customers to feel a part of the brand through the wearing of his clothes as well.

With a year of planning and preparation behind him, Matt has plans to take SOSSI to the next level and fulfil his plans of building a creative network. Aspects of the brands vision are still yet to come to life, including the final touches to the social media and website platforms.

As winter begins, Matt has plans to release a line of hooded jumpers and white crew neck t-shirts, possibly sweat pants and potentially a kids line in the future as the brand grows, including some secret but exciting items.

SOSSI is currently only sold online, with customers encouraged to look out for exciting developments planned for the near future.
