Adelaide couture label couture+love+madness is no stranger to designing eye-catching garments for celebrities Australia-wide, and now designer Cristina Tridente can add a huge international name to her line up.
On their recent trip to explore South Australia, and play an exclusive, intimate concert at the iconic d’Arenberg Cube in McLaren Vale, Sam Smith was able to add a couture+love+madness piece to their wardrobe.
Having dressed celebrities including Dannii Minogue, Lucy Durack, Michala Banas and Ali Oetjen, Cristina’s designs are renowned for their impeccable classic cuts, embellished fabrics and attention to every little detail.

As a huge fan of Sam’s, Cristina jumped at the opportunity to design something in her signature style for them, which also reflected key elements of their new album.
A couture cape was designed for Sam, in tiers of spotted tulle with gold hand embroidered symbols from their new album ‘Gloria’.
Christina says “This piece was such a special one to make as I have personally followed their journey since the beginning (“In the lonely hour”) and have been all over Australia to see them perform.”
“With the help of the South Australian Tourism Commission, we were able to get the cape to Sam upon their arrival to Adelaide this week.”

Cristina continues, “it was so exciting to be able to create this piece for Sam, it will forever hold a special place in my heart. I managed to win tickets on the radio to attend the concert but secretly hoped there would be a chance to meet them. I waited patiently after the event and managed to have a quick chat with Sam who stated that they loved the piece and that they would be taking it on tour with them. By far one of my career highlights to date!”.

Sam Smith will be returning to Australia later this year for GLORIA The Tour. Find out more details here.
