Have we mentioned that the Adelaide Fashion Festival presented by Mercedes-Benz Adelaide starts this week? Oh, we have! Can you tell that we are super excited about it? It celebrates some of the best in Adelaide fashion and you know how we love to celebrate anything South Australian!
One of the much anticipated shows of the Festival is the Ready To Wear Runway being held at the trendy Published Arthouse. It will feature the stunning designs from labels including casper&pearl, Simmone Standing The Label, SIG The Label and so many more…
And now, in an exciting new addition to the show, renowned (and uber talented) eyewear designer Peter Coombs will be showcasing his 4 O’Clock Collection throughout the Ready To Wear Runway. Considering this guy has made glasses for Elton John (YES, the Elton John) we can’t wait to see his amazing designs featured in the show.
The designs on show will be available to look at up close and personal after the runway is all over. We think that it is important that people are given the opportunity to have a close up look at something so detailed and intricate such as Peter’s glasses. You really have to see them up close to appreciate the love, passion and care put into every piece.
Peter is a man who is passionate about not only his own designs (of which he is a total champion) but also the design work of others. So much so that he is the proud President of DIA SA (Design Institute of Australia, SA Chapter).
His 4 O’Clock range sees 8 styles by 3 or 4 colour ways each and made at a limited volume, you know that you will be wearing a one of a kind pair of glasses! Three of the 2016 styles Cognac, Fino and Martini, which were also shown recently at trade fairs in Las Vegas and Paris, will be seen/previewed on the Ready To Wear Runway.
Peter said of his work, “Our signature eyewear design, function and aesthetic have developed from 30+ years working, testing and understanding the characteristics of specialised metals. Knowing our material is the basis of good design, leading us to elegant solutions, relevant styling and innovation as the reward.”
Fun fact: Peter isn’t just a designer of glasses, oh no! He is a man of many talents and also designs jewellery, tableware and furniture. Amazing!
We think that the addition of Peter’s designs to the Ready To Wear Runway will be the perfect cherry on top of a delicious fashion pie and we can’t wait to see his stunning pieces.
