Adelaide favourite Becky Blake is back with an incredible new band

Cabaret sensation Becky Blake, is showcasing 30 years of international performances with a new show at the Marion Cultural Centre with new band Becky & the Gents.

For one of Adelaide’s most-loved female entertainers, Becky Blake, the last time she took to the stage at the Marion Cultural Centre’s Domain Theatre it was to a completely empty room, live streamed to an audience tuning in via Facebook.

“It was one of the most bizarre gigs of my life!” she says.

Thankfully for Australian performers and audiences, 2021 is a different story and with 75% audience capacity now permitted in the theatre, Becky is very excited to introduce her new band, Becky and the Gents, who will be performing live on 11 June at 7pm.

Promising audiences a night full of favourites, Becky and the Gents will be putting their own groove on many well-loved tunes from Alicia Keys, Blondie, Daft Punk, Fleetwood Mac, Tina Turner and Dusty Springfield to name a few, covering a host of foot-tapping genres from funk to rock and everything in between. A special nod will be made to the band’s namesake, Elton John’s Benny & the Jets.

The Gents are made up of a talented group of some of Adelaide’s most respected musicians, with Gary Issacs on guitar, Enrico Morena on drums and Ron Kosmider on bass. A true triple threat, front woman Becky who has an incredible 30-year international performing career, will be providing keyboard, saxophone and lead vocals for the evening’s entertainment, familiar to audiences through her previous acts Chunky Custard and Piano Chicks.

Determined to make up for last year’s lacking crowd, Becky and the Gents promises an evening of entertainment to suit every music taste with incredible live music from some of Adelaide’s most talented musicians.

See Becky & the Gents live at the Marion Cultural Centre, Fri 11 June @ 7pm.
