Adelaide forecast for Thursday January 23rd and the days ahead

Adelaide is set for partly cloudy skies today, followed by a mostly sunny weekend with temperatures climbing.

Adelaide residents can expect partly cloudy skies with a slight chance of showers today, followed by mostly sunny conditions over the weekend, according to the latest weather forecast by the Bureau of Meteorology. Today’s maximum temperature will reach 26°C, with a 20% chance of rain.

For the remainder of Thursday, the city will see light winds shifting from west to southwesterly at speeds of 15 to 25 km/h around midday, before turning southerly at 20 to 30 km/h in the early afternoon. There is a slight chance of a shower in the late morning and afternoon.

Looking ahead to Friday, the weather is set to clear up with a mostly sunny day expected. Temperatures will range from a minimum of 14°C to a maximum of 28°C. Rain chances will decrease to a low 5%. Winds will be predominantly from the south to southeasterly at 15 to 20 km/h, increasing to 20 to 30 km/h from the south to southwest around midday, then easing in the evening.

The sunny weather will continue into Saturday, with temperatures expected to climb slightly higher, ranging from a minimum of 15°C to a maximum of 29°C, with no rain forecast. Winds on Saturday will begin from the east to southeasterly at 15 to 20 km/h, shifting to southwesterly during the morning, and returning to southeasterly in the evening.

The marine forecast has also issued a strong wind warning for the Spencer Gulf area for both Thursday and Friday, advising mariners to exercise caution.

The current weather pattern is influenced by a high-pressure ridge that is dominating the state, with high-pressure systems to the south bringing generally south-easterly flows across the region. A trough from the west is expected to move in by Saturday, possibly affecting weather conditions.

While Adelaide enjoys mild weather, isolated showers are predicted across the southern Agricultural Areas and possibly extending into the Murraylands today. In the state’s far southeast, temperatures are predicted well below average. Friday will be dry except for a low chance of light showers over the Lower South East Coast. The northwestern part of the state will maintain temperatures below average.

On Saturday, an isolated shower may appear about the West Coast. While maximum temperatures will remain above average in the west and close to average in the east, evening winds are expected to become fresh and gusty about the Far West Coast.
