Adelaide’s ‘Adelaide Fresh Fruiterers’ have once again won the title of National and South Australia Retailer of the Year from the 2024 ‘A Better Choice’ Peoples Choice Awards.

The family owned business has taken out the competition for South Australia’s Retailer of the Year every year since 2021 and they have previously won the National Retailer of the Year Award in both 2021 and 2022.
Owner Dino Labbozzatta, humbled by the ongoing support and recognition, expressed his joy at the win.
“It’s been amazing to win again and we’ve had a lot of customers reaching out to congratulate us and let us know they voted,” he said.
“We value quality and service and we still have a family environment and we support locals; we’re consistent with what we do and our customers see that… it’s like a reward for the effort.
“There were even three or four customers on the [Channel 9] news that were interviewed, that have been coming here for so long and it was good to see people give their opinion on the shop.”
The roots of the Fresh Fruiterers in Adelaide trace back to the early 1990s, when Frank and Mick Labbozzetta, second-generation fruiterers, established the business alongside two other families.
Today, the shop remains under the guidance of the Labbozzetta family and has expanded far beyond simply fruits and now sell an extensive selection of premium cold meats, cheese, gourmet continental products, nuts, condiments and fresh flowers.
One of their proudest aspects has been their ability to source locally grown produce from a range of suppliers based in places such as Fleurieu, Riverland, Adelaide Hills, Barossa, Clare Valley and Kangaroo Island.
For Dino Labbozetta, the greatest development for their business in recent years has been the expansion of their service deli.
“We are always trying to implement new things or try new things but I think the biggest change for us came last year when we tripled the size of our service deli,” he said.
“We increased our product range by 30% to 40% and also added in some more small goods and we also have Fleuriau Milk on tap so people can fill their glass bottles rather than using the plastic bottles.”

With such a wide range of products and a family friendly atmosphere, it is no surprise that the people of Adelaide keep coming back for more.
For those looking to experience the buzz firsthand, the Fresh Fruiterers is open seven days a week from 7am and is located at 3/206 Main S Rd, Morphett Vale SA 5162.
