Adelaide Fringe Cultural Fund now open

Adelaide Fringe 2014

Adelaide Fringe 2014Applications for Adelaide Fringe Cultural Fund Grants are now open for Australian artists.

Launched earlier this year, the Fund aims to support Australian artists to create daring and diverse contemporary work to be presented in the Adelaide Fringe. Three inaugural grants of $10,000 each will be awarded to selected artists to present their work in the 2015 Adelaide Fringe.

As an open access, non-curated arts festival, many independent artists self-present their own work in the Fringe using their own funds. They are creative entrepreneurs, not only creating the work but also taking the financial risk of presenting that work themselves.

Monetary assistance provides artists with a raft of options meaning the potential provision of a director or dramaturge, creation of costumes and sets, venue and equipment hire, travel and marketing.

Adelaide Fringe Chair Judy Potter said, “Many artists who perform in the Adelaide Fringe receive no funding so it is often the case that just a small amount of financial assistance can make all the difference.”

Grant applications are encouraged in all art forms and proposals that are ambitious in delivering daring and diverse contemporary art that will attract new audiences will be looked upon favourably.
