Adelaide Fringe gets one last hurrah as ‘Plazapalooza’ takes over Festival Plaza

See It LIVE: Plazapalooza is a free, all-ages live music event that will see an array of local musicians, creators, and food and wine vendors come together.

With the 2023 Fringe season coming to an end, it’s now safe to say that we’ve had another cracker of a year. From world debuts and returning favourites to seeing brand new acts take their first steps onto the world’s stage, South Australia has once again lived up to its namesake.

And if you’re sad to wave goodbye to what is arguably the best month of the year, fear not because the fun isn’t over just yet, with the Festival Plaza hosting one last hurrah before we wrap things up.

See It LIVE: Plazapalooza is an all-ages live music event that will see an array of local musicians, creators and food and wine vendors come together for one incredible, free event in collaboration with the critically acclaimed Fringe project, 10×10.

This award-winning project saw 10 South Australian bands partner with 10 local filmmakers to create a music video that was filmed throughout the duration of the Fringe Festival and then debuted at a special screening event. Local bands George Glass and Street Legal, who featured in the project, will take to the stage at Plazapalooza alongside a host of special guests with music videos created as part of the 10×10 event woven between sets.

The collaboration is truly a sight to behold with Adelaide Fringe Director and CEO, Heather Croall, sharing her excitement for one more chance to catch the magic in action. “We were thrilled to see Adelaide bands and filmmakers come together to create exciting new film clips at the sell-out Fringe event 10×10; these film makers and bands will now have an opportunity to showcase their works at Plazapalooza as part of the celebration of the See It LIVE initiative.”

Launched in June 2022, the $10 million See It LIVE package has already supported many musicians, venues and promoters throughout the state as well as encouraging South Australians to get out to their favourite venues and support local artists.

Whether you’re exhausted from a packed few weeks or still got some room in the tank, Plazapalooza is the ultimate way to round out yet another stellar Fringe season and a final chance to see one of the best projects live in action.

See It LIVE: Plazapalooza will take place on Friday March 31 at Festival Plaza and no tickets are necessary.
