Tu Strange is not too strange. He’s just Tu Fantastic.

In his double act with the fantabulous Mu-Syuan Chang, he’s the comedy half of Duel & Dual which returns for this year’s Fringe and is well worth your time.

Between their two solo shows and their double act, they are a triple threat that are an absolute must-see. Both are incredible magicians and incredibly entertaining but Tu Strange takes magic and entertainment to a whole new level that you’ve never experienced before.

Let’s get the mandatory puns out the way because they all ring true: Tu Strange puts the art into ‘heart’, the ow into ‘wow’ and the awe into ‘awesome’.

He hugs every audience member who participates, but even that turns into comedy in his inimitable way. His timing, expressive facial expressions and overall demeanour engenders laugh after laugh, interspersed with ample chuckles. There’s barely a moment that doesn’t break a smile.

As for his magic, Tu Strange is nothing less than astounding. He befuddles, bemuses and blows you away with impossible illusions, whether it be card tricks, fire swallowing or way too many nosey nuances.

Most importantly, his show is circular. What astounds you at the start will come back to blow you away at the end. And when you think you’ve made the connection, he’ll blow your mind one more time. A cavalcade of brilliant but simple tricks reveal themselves to be an intricate tapestry of impossible feats. Tu Strange is not just a magician. He’s a showman. He’s a storyteller who doesn’t reveal the story until the last few seconds.

Tu Strange is brilliance disguised as a clown.

Forget the illusion of big budget promotions. Tu Strange is the real deal for magic, entertainment and unexpected plot twists.
