This unique business has gifted locals and tourists of the state the perfect way to wind down and relax in true Venetian style for decades.
Operating seven days a week (day and night) for your convenience, you can enjoy a ride along the picturesque River Torrens.
Soak in the beautiful scenery of Adelaide and listen to the birds chirping as well as the soothing sounds of the moving water. Accompany this with a bottle of wine and picnic to indulge in and attempt to let go of some of life’s stresses.
Talking to owner and gondolier, Roger Carlson, he tells us Adelaide Gondola supplies the only two legitimate venetian gondolas in Australia, making this experience truly unique to SA.
The classic Italian boats are each 11 metres long, and are glided along the river by a gondolier dressed in the traditional striped top and round brimmed hat.
For the hopeless romantic, the gondola experience may provide the perfect backdrop and romantic setting to make that wedding proposal extra special and one to remember. Adelaide Gondola are experts in the romance department, having witnessed over 1000 proposals along Adelaide’s city riverbank.
For a more intimate experience, you can also ask to take the gondolas to a more private location including West Lakes, Mannum and Murray Bridge.
The main pick-up locations are the Ochre café or the River café along the River Torrens, but Adelaide Gondola can also collect customers from the Adelaide Zoo and other locations along the river.
Prices start at $115pp for 40 mins on the water, and $140pp for a full hour of cruising relaxation.
