Adelaide has a schnitzel appreciation group and everyone needs to know about it

If you love a good schnitty, we have found a community of like minded fans where you can talk schnitzel all day long.

In what can only be called a stroke of genius, South Australian schnitzel lover James Pearce created a Facebook group, dedicated to the worship and appreciation of local schnittys.

It’s called the Adelaide Schnitzel Appreciation Group.

While its legacy goes back as far as 2015, Covid seems to have either given people more time to find the said group, or maybe their appreciation for the finer things in life is more pronounced now, with the group booming in recent weeks.

In fact, the frenzy has been so great, that a recent spike in posts about Pepe Nero Pizzeria’s giant schnitzels saw them sell a week’s worth of chicken in a single day. Talk about sizzle.

Debate in the group ranges from best schnittys, to whether or not chips should be served underneath a parmi (and of course, the answer is NO! It makes them soggy).

People also use the brains trust of the group to find the best (and cheapest) deals in certain locations, and of course, just to share photos of their food, and rate their experiences with various schnitzels from around town. Apparently size matters, crumbs need to stick, and a bargain is always appreciated.

To join the mayhem, head to the Adelaide Schnitzel Appreciation Group here.
