Adelaide Hills winery Anvers unveils exclusive wine range at global music fest Tomorrowland

A unique collaboration between Adelaide Hills winery Anvers and entertainment giant Tomorrowland has been announced, featuring the launch of three exclusive wines that blend Australian viticulture with global festival flair.

In an exciting collaboration that bridges the realms of winemaking and global entertainment, Adelaide Hills boutique winery, Anvers, has partnered with international entertainment giant, Tomorrowland. The partnership marks the Australian launch of three new signature wines collectively known as the ‘Acta Non Verba’ range.

These wines are now featured at Tomorrowland’s renowned electronic music events in Belgium, which attract an impressive audience of 200,000 visitors each weekend from around the globe.

Anvers has curated a distinctive trio of wines for this partnership, all cultivated in their Kangarilla vineyard located in the scenic Adelaide Hills. The selection comprises a Shiraz, a Chardonnay, and a Rosé, each crafted with the precision and care synonymous with Anvers’ reputation for quality.

Wayne Keoghan, owner and managing director of Anvers Wines, described the partnership as a natural alignment of values focused around excellence and quality.

“It seemed a perfect synergy,” Keoghan remarked. “Our mutual pursuit for exceptional quality made this partnership with Tomorrowland a seamless fit.”

Reflecting on the serendipitous connections that led to this collaboration, Keoghan shared personal ties to Belgium, linking back to his wife’s homeland of Antwerp. He explained how the brand name ‘Anvers’ itself is a tribute to Antwerp and reflects the intertwining of his personal and professional journeys. Since its establishment in 1998, Anvers has not only secured a steadfast local following but has also gained international acclaim, particularly in Europe, Canada, and Japan.

The collaboration’s flagship wine, the 2021 Shiraz, showcases a blend from the finest parcels of the vintage. This wine encapsulates the fusion of vibrant berry and spice notes typical of Adelaide Hills Shiraz, enriched with the deep plum and blackberry essences from Langhorne Creek.

Matured for 20 months in French oak barrels, the wine presents a complex profile marked by refinement and robust flavours, backed by velvety tannins and a lingering finish. A mere 3,000 bottles of this hand-crafted Shiraz have been produced.

The Chardonnay from this unique range, sourced entirely from Anvers’ own estate, underwent a meticulous production process involving handpicking, gentle whole bunch pressing, and natural fermentation in French oak barrels. It offers a sophisticated bouquet of white nectarines, layered with delicate hints of nougat and cashew, leading to a creamy textured palate with a persistent finish. This exquisite vineyard product is limited to just 4,800 bottles.

Completing the trio, the Syrah Rosé, also derived from hand-picked grapes from Anvers estate, was crafted by extracting only the palest pink juice from the berries. The subtle winemaking technique ensured the retention of the Syrah’s vibrant fruit character, delivering a wine that is not only visually appealing with its pale pink hue but is also crisp, dry, and refreshing on the palate.

While these wines have been making a mark among European event-goers since early 2023, they were formally introduced to the Australian market at an exclusive dinner held at Anvers’ Cellar Door Restaurant on March 6. The event featured a curated pairing of these wines with select South Australian produce.

“Our Acta Non Verba wines signify our dedication to the highest standards,” Keoghan stated. “I am confident that Australian wine aficionados will embrace these new offerings with the same enthusiasm shown by our international customers.”

This partnership exemplifies how local craftsmanship can project its presence on the world stage, marrying the finest aspects of Australian viticulture with global cultural phenomena.
