South Australia is set to host the popular tennis tournament Adelaide International, making its return to The Drive in 2024, with early bird tickets available now.
This combined WTA 500 and ATP 250 tournament runs from the 8th to the 13th of January and promises to deliver top-notch tennis action amidst the picturesque riverbank precinct of Adelaide.
The Drive is preparing to welcome over 170 elite tennis professionals, all competing for a substantial prize pool of $2.5 million and critical world ranking points, with the women’s segment of the tournament showcasing 30 singles players and 16 doubles pairs, whilst the men’s side will feature 28 singles players and 24 doubles pairs.
But this event isn’t just about the tennis.
The Drive’s brand-new facilities will be buzzing with excitement off the court with live music, food trucks, bars, and other entertainment, making the Adelaide International a fun and engaging experience for everyone.
‘We look forward to staging the Adelaide International in 2024 as part of a huge Summer of Tennis in Australia’, says Debbie Sterrey, Tennis SA CEO and Adelaide International General Manager.
‘More than 170 of the world’s best tennis players will be right here at The Drive in Adelaide, playing for a huge $2.5 million prize pool and world ranking points. Off court, our traditional TennisFest will come to life once again with activations, music, food, drinks and hospitality options on offer for a fun day out at the tennis’, says Debbie.
The return of world-class tennis to Adelaide has also garnered the attention of South Australian Tourism Minister Zoe Bettison.
‘Fans are set to make a racket as they witness more than 170 of the world’s best tennis stars hit the courts at The Drive when the Adelaide International returns in January’, says Zoe. ‘Right in the heart of our boutique city, the Adelaide International is another blockbuster on our state’s events calendar. It brings people into our CBD and into hospitality businesses, and it showcases our state-of-the-art facilities right around the world.’
For those eager to witness the action first-hand, early bird tickets are now available for purchase exclusively through Ticketmaster. The pricing is indeed a steal, with adult general admission tickets commencing at $10. In an inclusive move, children’s entry is free of charge, and families can take advantage of the special pricing too, with family tickets starting at just $20.
While the list of participating players is yet to be unveiled, announcements are expected to be made in due course. Given the prestige and scale of the event, tennis fans can certainly expect some of the biggest names in the sport to grace the courts of The Drive in Adelaide this coming January.
