Adelaide International unveils star-studded Racquets and Strings entertainment Lineup

Celebrating its fifth year, the Racquets and Strings festival is back at the Adelaide International, unveiling its full line-up.

The Adelaide International is set to deliver not just world-class tennis but also an electrifying daily dose of music and entertainment at The Drive’s Pinky Flat, thanks to the return of the Racquets and Strings program.

Celebrating its fifth year, this unique initiative will feature a lineup of eight talented homegrown musicians, promising to create a vibrant atmosphere during the tournament.

Curated by Tom Kurzel from Wasabi Entertainment, the Racquets and Strings Program is designed to appeal to a broad audience, enhancing the overall vibe at the newly expanded Pinky Flat venue.

“Working with the Adelaide International to develop the Racquets and Strings music program is a fantastic opportunity for South Australian artists and the industry as a whole. Sports and music both have the power to bring people together, and this event provides our local talents with an amazing platform to showcase their skills to new audiences,” says Tom Kurzel.

One of the highlights of the program is the return of pop and electropop sensation Jess Kent, who will be gracing her hometown of Adelaide with her performance. Born in the UK and moving to Adelaide at the age of 11, Jess Kent gained fame with her debut single ‘Get Down,’ which became the most-played song on Triple J in November 2015.

Debbie Sterrey, CEO of Tennis SA and General Manager of the Adelaide International, expressed her delight at the continued growth of the Racquets and Strings program after five successful years.

“As our entertainment zone at Pinky Flat expands, we encourage ticket holders to arrive early, unwind, and enjoy the atmosphere. Combining local musicians, food trucks, and refreshing beverages in the shade on Pinky Flat enhances our off-court experience, adding a festival-like vibe to complement the world-class tennis,” said Debbie Sterrey.

Local acts lined up for the Racquets and Strings program at the 2024 Adelaide International include Sax Bates, High Horse, Wundes, Vibe, BPMs, DJ Ash Grindle, and DJ Kai Ward on the decks. Jess Kent’s return home promises to be a mid-week highlight, making this year’s Racquets and Strings program an event not to be missed.
