The annual Adelaide Italian Festival is finally back this year with a massive celebration of Italian culture, food, wine and more across the city over November.

With opening night kicking off Friday November 12, the festival will host 44 events across 30 locations in the state over 10 days until November 21.

The opening night will take place at East End transforming the space into a mini Italy. The event will see drinks and food flowing from Vardon Avenue venues including Mother Vine and East End Cellars.

The next 10 days will see Adelaide turn into a festa of Italian culture and traditions.

On Sunday November 7, there will be a family-friendly vintage bicycle ride through the beautiful Barossa Valley, featuring some of our best Italian wineries with ‘La Grande Gita’.

The Art Gallery of South Australia will have Guided Tours of Italian Art with tours available in Italian and English.

Osteria Oggi will offer a special Italian Festival Tasting Menu across the event while 360 Gradi will be offering a Culinary Journey through Italy.

Serafino Wines will host a Festa by the Lake on Sunday November 14 with wine, food and groovy music.

A range of master classes will be on offer with a Zeppole Masterclass at Mater Christi, a Pizza Masterclass with Mattia’s Pizza, and Pasta-making Masterclass with Chianti.

Striving cooks will also have a chance to learn from Chef Adam Swanson with a hands on Cooking class at Sprout Cooking School.

The Central Markets will host a cooking masterclass with Radio Italiana 531 and again with the Abruzzo Molise Club.

Meanwhile, ACES, Bar Torino, Blue Velvet, Francesco’s Osteria, Apoteca, Rezz Hotel and Sicily Pizzeria e Bar will be hosting special events to take you on a culinary journey of food and wine of Italy’s regions country.

There’s an all you can eat Pizza Night at Rosewater Hotel for those who are down for a carb up challenge with classic Napolitana-style wood oven pizzas.

Adelaide Italian Festival will have fun for the whole family with Open Bocce Sessions and Disco Bocce at SA Bocce Federation.

If you’re a lover of Italian engines from sexy Ferraris or cute Fiats, you’ll want to head to the Italian Car Rally at Torrens Parade on the closing day of the festival on November 21.

You can head to Patritti Wines for the last hurrah too with a relaxing family day of food, drink, and entertainment for Nonna’s Big Day Out.

The Adelaide Italian Festival was set to return last year after a three-year hiatus; however, it was cancelled last minute due to COVID-19. After four years off, the return of the festival is set to be molto grande!

The Italian Festival has been a part of Adelaide for decades with the first held in Rundle Mall in 1976. It was later names “Carnevale” but had now returned back to its original name in honour of its origins.

Adelaide Italian Festival will run from November 12-21.
