Adelaide Jazz Club Delivers the Cool!

Andy Seymour

The Adelaide Jazz Club’s next gig on November 9th features Andy Seymour.

On the 19th September, Adelaide entrepreneur Mark Keough, held the soft launch of his new venture, the Adelaide Jazz Club.

Held upstairs at the Gilbert Street Hotel, the launch was a huge success.

The packed audience was treated to Sydney-based saxophonist and vocalist, Nic Jeffries, joined by three extraordinary home-grown musos: Mark Ferguson on keys, Shireen Khemlani on upright bass and John McDermott on drums.  There was some sensational musicianship on show. Working through standards, originals and some edgy, jazz-infused versions of songs by such greats as John Lennon and Stevie Wonder, the band was nearly mobbed when they tried to go home! Adelaide audiences are hungry for jazz, and eat it up whenever it is offered.

Adelaide Jazz Club’s next gig will feature popular performer Andy Seymour, doing an evening of cool and soul.  Amongst many achievements, Andy was the first Australian to perform a season at Tokyo’s New York Jazz Bar. We might not have the rat-pack, but Andy Seymour is surely the next-best-thing! He will be joined by the amazing Mark Ferguson on keys and James Muller on guitar.

Andy will play two shows: 7.30 and 9.30, both on November 9th at the Gilbert Street Hotel.
