Adelaide Loves Its Food And Wine

As the 2011 Adelaide Good Food & Wine Show fast approaches, Adelaide continues to show its support with an increase in pre-booked ticket sales.

Held at the Royal Adelaide Showgrounds from 7 – 9 October for the second year running, attendees can succumb to their senses and enjoy a delicious day out – whether they are a serious foodie, a king of their kitchen, or simply love all things food and wine related.

Compared to last year, pre-booked ticket sales to see one of the Celebrity Chefs live in action are up 170 percent and continue to sell rapidly. Visitors are especially excited to see UK celebrity chef Ainsley Harriott, who will be making a special guest appearance at the Adelaide Good Food & Wine Show this year. Other top chefs making their way to Adelaide are Manu Feildel coming straight from the My Kitchen Rules set, Matt Moran who is also keeping busy with the Junior MasterChefs, Tobie Puttock, and Alastair McLeod.

The number of exhibitors participating continues to grow, and there has been an overwhelming show of local support from some amazing South Australian food producers such as Tuckers, Butch’s Smallgoods of the Riverland, Heavenly Delights, Gelista, Spring Gully Foods, Careme Pastry, Cocolat, Lifestyle Bakery, Wild Salad, Bracegirdle’s House of Fine Chocolate, Enzo’s at Home, Barossa Fine Foods, Kyton’s Bakery, 4 leaf milling company, and many more.

Barossa Valley, the heart of Australia’s wine region, has 14 wineries taking part including Barossa Valley Estate, Blue Rock, Domain Day, Getaway Reservation Services, Gibsons, Jacobs Creek, Richmond Grove, Kellermeister Wines, Landhaus, Linfield, Peter Lehmann Wines, Rolf Binder, St Hallett, Thorn Clarke and Whistler Wines. Famous wine regions McLaren Vale and Clare Valley will also be showcasing their best, and in order to appreciate these fine wines and learn about the history and art of wine tasting, the Riedel Wine Theatre offers free palate appreciation classes around these regions and varietals.

James Laing, Exhibition Director of the Good Food & Wine Show says, "It’s great to see so many local food and wine producers coming on board for the Adelaide show. Adelaide is such a passionate state when it comes to food and wine and their involvement in the show really highlights this."

"We are very happy to have Coopers on board again as one of our major sponsors. The Coopers Beer Garden is back due to popular demand and will be situated in the outside area accompanied by fabulous live music. Visitors can relax in the sun whilst enjoying a cold Coopers matched to delicious wood fire pizzas, a selection of delights from Harris Smokehouse, and a gourmet BBQ."

"The master classes are always a favourite, and this year we have local exhibitors involved including the Bracegirdle’s Chocolate Master class, which features chocolate appreciation, wine and chocolate pairing, and beer and chocolate pairing. Tuckeroo cooking school will entertain and amaze punters, providing incredible taste experiences of unique native ingredients for all participants," said James.

The General Trader will have a stand at this year’s show, with special guest appearances daily from ex MasterChef Contestant and local talent Callum Hann, as well as appearances by acclaimed chef Luke Nguyen. Matt Moran will also make guest appearances.

The scrumptious line-up at this year’s show will continue to grow in the lead up to this exciting event. Adelaide’s newest food and wine event will be host to some of Australia’s finest food, wine and beer over three jam-packed days, and will no doubt tantalise the taste sensations. Visitors will explore, indulge, and sample gourmet food, acclaimed local produce, luscious cheeses, and of course, award-winning South Australian wines – it’s an epicurean’s delight not to be missed.
