When Adelaide mum Danielle McBeath found out she was pregnant with twins, she had no idea she’d end up making a product for herself that would receive so much interest from other breastfeeding mums. But isn’t that how the best ideas come about?
Scrumptious Mummy nursing tea was created out of necessity. Danielle is currently breastfeeding 12 month old twins and previously fed her pre-schooler. Feeding twins added an extra challenge so she looked at natural alternatives that were quick, enjoyable and would assist in boosting her milk supply, which led to her using lactation biscuits while in hospital with her babies. After confirming that nursing tea assisted her with milk supply, but the taste was rather unpalatable, Danielle came up with her own delicious blend using Adelaide Hills lemon myrtle along with Fenugreek, Aniseed and Fennel Seed. Danielle’s background is in the wine industry but while breastfeeding twins, she rarely had the opportunity to enjoy a glass of wine, so Scrumptious Mummy has become her beverage of choice.
Adelaide Hills Lemon Myrtle has an uplifting citrus aroma, is calming, relaxing, anti-fungal, non-acidic and has a lovely lemon taste, while Fenugreek, Fennel Seed and Aniseed have traditionally been used to support breastfeeding mothers in breastmilk production.
