The last time Adelaide United played at Adelaide Oval, the Reds took home the 2015/16 Hyundai A-League Grand Final silverware in front of more than 51,000 fans.
This Friday the Reds will return for their first home game of the 2017/18 Hyundai A-League season to take on arch rivals the Melbourne Victory.
Adelaide Oval SMA CEO Andrew Daniels said the strong rivalry between the two teams looks set to deliver another thrilling game.
“We can’t wait to host Adelaide United for a Friday night blockbuster against Melbourne Victory,” he said.
“The last time the Reds played at Adelaide Oval more than 51,000 fans packed out the stadium as part of an incredible game that went on to win the International Event of the Year at the Stadium Business Awards.
“We’ve seen what a difference the home game advantage can make and we’re encouraging as many United fans as possible to come along on Friday to hopefully help the Reds secure a win.
“Adelaide Oval staff throughout the stadium have been working hard to prepare for the game and we’ll be doing everything we can to put on another fantastic event.”
Adelaide United take on the Melbourne Victory at Adelaide Oval at 7.20pm on Friday, October 20. Gates open at 6pm – fans are reminded to arrive early due to increased security measures.
