Adelaide Oval locked in for Cricket Australia Summer Test vs India

Cricket Australia (CA) has unveiled its home international schedule for the 2024/25 summer, with Adelaide Oval to host a Day/Night Test match vs India.

Cricket fans can finally mark their calendars as Cricket Australia (CA) unveils the highly anticipated home international schedule for the 2024/25 summer, featuring a blockbuster Women’s Ashes T20 International and the return of December Day/Night Men’s Test cricket to the iconic venue.

Confirming the fixture, CA has announced the dates for this summer’s action-packed schedule, headlined by a five-Test men’s series against India, commencing at Perth Stadium on November 22nd.

The spotlight will then shift to the iconic Adelaide Oval, which is set to host a Day/Night Test match between India and Australia from December 6th to the 10th, marking India’s return to South Australia since a memorable Australian triumph in 2020.

Adelaide Oval will also witness a Day/Night Men’s One Day International showdown against Pakistan on Friday November 8th, promising a thrilling white-ball battle.

In a strategic move, the Ashes rivalry will be reignited under lights on Saturday January 25th as Australia takes on England in a highly anticipated clash, echoing the electrifying series witnessed on English soil in 2023, which set new records for attendance and viewership in women’s cricket.

“We have worked closely with Cricket Australia to secure a schedule that not only rewards SACA Members but also promotes the growth of Australian cricket,” William Rayner, President of the South Australian Cricket Association (SACA) says.

“We eagerly anticipate hosting England for a significant Women’s Ashes encounter, as well as Pakistan for an enthralling white-ball contest in November, and India for a marquee Day/Night Test Match in December. We are confident that our Members will turn out in large numbers to support these matches and showcase our city to the world.”

India’s last journey to Adelaide created history, with Australia claiming an eight-wicket victory on the back of a remarkable bowling performance from quick Josh Hazlewood.

The Women’s Ashes will comprise of all three formats of the game, with the T20I at Adelaide Oval set to be a key clash in the deciding of the prestigious series.
