The Adelaide Railway Station’s new station entry just beautified your morning commute.

The entrance is spacious and modern, held up by curvy archways and gold-lighted glass panes. The beautiful new entrance is located at the building’s northern end, and it’s part of a larger plan to renovate and upgrade the Riverbank Precinct and Festival Plaza.

“This is another major milestone in the revitalisation of the station and Festival Plaza redevelopment,” Premier Steven Marshall says.

“If you are heading to the Riverbank, why not walk through this stunning new entrance to the Riverbank Footbridge and Adelaide Oval?”

The revitalisation of the station is part of Renewal SA’s vision to rejuvenate the station and the surrounding areas.

The station entrance’s reveal comes after an announcement of another massive renovation to the Riverbank Precinct, the new sports arena on the River Torrens. The 15,000-person, indoor arena will be the city’s new hub of concerts, conventions, and court sports like basketball, netball and tennis.

Premier Stephen Marshall announced in a press conference that the precinct, of which Adelaide Railway Station is a part, is the focal point of recent government investment.

“Our investment will take recent government and private investment in entertainment and convention infrastructure along Adelaide’s riverbank precinct to more than $2 billion.”

The area got upwards of $7–8 billion of public and private investment, according to a government report.

“A key asset and recent focus of investment is the Riverbank area adjacent to the River Torrens through the CBD of Adelaide,” the report says.

“As it evolves, the heart of Adelaide and its economic, social and cultural activity will move towards the northern edge of the city and this area will become the global focus for Adelaide. With a wide range of stakeholders across the precinct, coordination of investment and activity will maximise benefits and establish a clear global positioning.”

The beautiful entrance is the first step of many to come in the Riverbank area.
