Adelaide Set to Chill the Blaze on Friday

The Adelaide 36ers head to Queensland today, for their iiNet NBL Championship game against the Gold Coast Blaze on Friday night.

Having last met the Blaze in late November, at the Adelaide Arena and going down 82-95, the 36ers are looking to serve some ice cold water over the Blaze.

Head Coach Marty Clarke says that it is an important for the team to continue the momentum from last week’s game.

“Diamon and DJ will be our focus offensively and defensively we will look to mix things around and throw some zone and extended pressure and some man to man at them,”

“We are keen to reduce the imput of Gibson and Worthington and the boys will work hard defensively to minimise their contribution to the game,” “The boys have created a baseline for their performance and we now expect nothing less from them than what we saw last Friday night,”

“Game night Captain will be Stephen Weigh, he lead well on the court last week and we expect him to continue on Friday night.”

Intensity at training has been good for the past month and the team hope to carry its current form for the rest of the season.

Diamon Simpson says that he is looking forward to taking the Gold Coast on and will be up for everything that they will dish out to the 36ers.

“We are going to play a much tighter defensive game against them, we let them loose last time we played them and we are not going to let that happen on Friday,”

“The team will work hard and use our height to work hard for the boards.”

The Adelaide 36ers next home game will be on Saturday 7 January, and will be a double header with the Adelaide Link Lightning.

Tickets are available for the new year’s first clash through www.proticket.com.au and start from $20 for adults and $5 for children under 18 years.
