This October, SA is getting ready to sparkle, as the annual Adelaide Silver Style Ovarian Cancer Fundraiser returns with a groovy twist.

On Saturday, October 25th, the Arkaba Hotel’s Top of the Ark will be transformed into a 1960s time capsule, bringing a whole lot of retro style while raising vital funds for lifesaving ovarian cancer research.

This is sure to be a fun night with all things bold patterns, mod dresses, throwback suits, and a dance floor of nostalgic tunes. The Cameos will light up the night with a high-energy set of 60s classics, and leading the event will be journalist and presenter Jess Adamson.

Ovarian cancer is one of the deadliest cancers affecting women, with no early detection test currently available. Often called the ‘silent killer’, symptoms can go unnoticed until the disease is at an advanced stage, making survival rates devastatingly low. Research into early detection is often underfunded, yet it is the single most important breakthrough needed to save women’s lives.

Hosting the fundraiser is The Letitia Linke Research Foundation, which was founded in honour of Letitia Linke. Letitia was a 34-year-old wife and mother who was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer, but despite her illness, she dedicated the precious time she had left to raising awareness and funds for research. Her legacy continues through the Foundation’s work, which puts every dollar raised into local projects, driving the search for early detection and improved treatments.

“Every dollar raised takes us closer to discovering an early detection test that could change outcomes for women everywhere,” shared Madelyn Duckmanton, Chair of the Letitia Linke Research Foundation. “Together, we can make a difference and honour Letitia’s extraordinary legacy.”

The Silver Style fundraiser has heaps scheduled, including a live auction of items and experiences, with all proceeds funding South Australian ovarian cancer research. Plus, there will be raffle prizes giving everyone a chance to contribute and win, even if you can’t make it on the evening.

All funds raised will stay in South Australia, directly supporting ovarian cancer research and helping to make sure future generations of women have access to better outcomes.
