Brad Hodge will have surgery early next week after suffering a minor fracture in his left forearm while warming up for the Adelaide Strikers’ New Year’s Eve match against the Hobart Hurricanes.
Hodge will travel to Melbourne on Monday, 5 January for surgery and recovery before returning to the Adelaide Strikers in his role as an assistant coach.
It is hoped that Hodge will be fit to return in time for the KFC T20 Big Bash League finals, should the Strikers make it that far.
He previously injured the same arm during the Caribbean Premier League in July, when a metal plate was inserted into the arm.
The Adelaide Strikers will wait for the post-surgery report before making a decision on a replacement player.
