Cumulus Studio, based in Adelaide, has secured the top spot as the country’s premier architecture firm.
The prestigious accolade comes from Architizer, one of the world’s largest online architectural publications, which meticulously evaluated over a decade of data, key statistics, and industry research to determine architectural excellence.
The rankings of the best architecture firms is based off the number of A+Awards won (2013 to 2024), the number of A+Awards finalists (2013 to 2024), the number of projects selected as “Project of the Day” (2009 to 2024), the number of projects selected as “Featured Project” (2009 to 2024) and the number of projects uploaded to Architizer (2009 to 2024).
Established in 2011, Cumulus Studio operates offices across major Australian cities, including Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Hobart, and Launceston.
The firm has earned acclaim for its diverse portfolio, spanning tourism destinations, large-scale urban spaces, and affordable housing. Notably, Cumulus Studio’s commitment to positive social, cultural, and environmental impact has garnered B Corp certification.

“Through adaptive reuse of the existing structure, we’re crafting a vibrant and contemporary visitor experience while preserving the precinct’s heritage,” Jet O’Rourke, Cumulus Studio Architect/Associate leading the project, says.
