The $48 million Adelaide Studios now boasts 33 tenants, the largest number it has ever housed since opening in 2011. It follows the South Australian Film Corporation creating new space to add to the diversity of screen talent based at Adelaide Studios.

Joining the Adelaide Studios will be animation and games developer Monkeystack, editing firm Off Line Edits and production company Reed Films. Monkeystack has built an enviable reputation having developed children’s television and video games alongside Nickelodeon, ABC, Matchbox Pictures and Media World Pictures. Reed Films is a production company specialising in the creation of compelling and original factual TV and drama content and Off Line Edits works on diverse range of projects including television series, documentaries, feature and short films.

South Australian Film Corporation CEO Annabelle Sheehan said the Adelaide Studios was home to some of the most innovative and creative screen talent in South Australia.

“The companies based at Adelaide Studios reflect the strength and diversity of the South Australian screen industry, said Ms Sheehan.

“This incredible creative hub is a key part of the overall ecology of the SA screen industry which continues to grow our screen brand interstate and overseas as well as attracting new productions into South Australia.

“We’re seeing many of the Adelaide Studios tenants taking advantage of the demand for content and new opportunities being created by platforms such as subscription TV, video on demand and gaming.”

Being a tenant at Adelaide Studios also means having South Australia’s state-of-the-art production facilities on your doorstep. This includes two Sound Stages, Dolby Premier 7.1 Mixing Theatre (one of only two in Australia), Foley/ADR studios, 100-seat screening theatre and production offices.

Reed Films Producer Vanna Morosini said, “we’re delighted to be joining the vibrant screen community at the Adelaide Studios and look forward to utilising its state of the art facilities for our future productions.”

A recent report prepared by Deloitte Access Economics and commissioned by the South Australian Film Corporation found that the South Australian screen industry contributed $77.2 million to the state’s economy in 2013/14 and supported full-time employment for 754.

The $48 million investment to create the Adelaide Studios as a screen production hub and production attraction initiatives by the SAFC returned back to back record screen production in South Australia in 2012/13 and 2013/14.
