Adelaide The New Home For Gala Charity Event, Red Ball Adelaide

Following more than 20 years as Melbourne’s premier charity gala event, Adelaide will host its first Red Ball to support Fight Cancer Foundation and South Australians living with cancer.

One of our favourite Aussie super couples – Hugh Jackman & Deborra-Lee Furness – are the patrons for the Fight Cancer Foundation. When you hear that someone of their calibre have put their faces to an organisation, you know it’s doing good things. And it is. After launching the first dedicated education support program for children with cancer in South Australia this year, Fight Cancer Foundation are now about to hold their first Red Ball in Adelaide, after years of successful fundraising events interstate.

Hailed as a signature charity event, the iconic Red Ball has amazed guests with outstanding larger-than-life experiences, raising funds for Fight Cancer Foundation’s vital initiatives and programs since 1992.

The successful sell-out events see guests enjoy sumptuous food and wines and marvel at some amazing big-ticket raffle and auction items including holidays, spectacular artworks and special paraphernalia from Fight Cancer Foundation Patron, Hugh Jackman.

With an impressive list of popular celebrity supporters, patrons and attendees, the star-studded Red Ball is always a hit with the philanthropic elite.

Over the years, Red Ball has raised millions of dollars for Fight Cancer Foundation’s lifesaving programs and has hosted some out-of-this-world lavish and spectacular events, from ice-cream trucks to huge orchestras to Hugh Jackman’s Back on Broadway spectacular and a full scale circus. Red Ball is the ‘must attend’ gala of the year.

Held at the Adelaide Town Hall on Saturday 21 May, the event will raise much needed funds for children receiving treatment for cancer at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital.

Fight Cancer Foundation Managing Director, Eric Wright believes Red Ball Adelaide is the perfect way for South Australians to show their support for children living with cancer.

“Red Ball is an extraordinary event that brings together people who share a common goal – fighting against cancer,” Mr Wright said.

“Red Ball Adelaide is a wonderful evening of world class food and entertainment where guests know that they are making a real difference to the lives of young children receiving treatment for cancer.

“We are proud Adelaide is the new home of our signature event.”

All funds raised through Red Ball Adelaide support Fight Cancer Foundation’s Back on Track program that helps young learners stay engaged with their education, not fall behind their peers and successfully transition back to their regular school once their treatment is complete.

Back on Track is the only program of its kind in South Australia and is delivered in partnership with the Department for Education and Child Development Hospital School at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital, supported by TeamKids – Women’s & Children’s Hospital Foundation.

Limited tickets start at $200 and are available at www.redball.com.au/adelaide.
