Adelaide Thunderbirds Announce Bushfire Relief Fundraiser Match

The Adelaide Thunderbirds and Netball South Australia have announced that they will support South Australians affected by bushfires this summer with a Bushfire Relief Fundraiser on Saturday 22 February 2020.

The Adelaide Thunderbirds will take on Southern Force, the state’s Australian Netball League team, in a bushfire relief match with doors opening at 8:30am.

Following the match, athletes will participate in a meet and greet signing session with fans. Tickets to the fundraiser will be $5 at the door and online at www.adelaidethunderbirds.com.au, with 100% of sales to be donated to the Red Cross Disaster Relief and Recovery Appeal.

The Red Cross supports evacuation centres and recovery hubs, first aid, emergency assistance, volunteers and recovery programs for people affected by bushfires.

Netball South Australia CEO, Megan Wooldridge says “Netball South Australia’s thoughts are with all people who have been affected by the bushfires in South Australia and throughout the country over recent weeks.

We are devastated to learn that Western Districts Football and Netball Club has been destroyed by the bushfires on Kangaroo Island and we will ensure they receive the support they need to rebuild when the time is right.”

“We know the important role that sport plays in the lives of regional communities and will work with the KI community to provide assistance as a priority.

We encourage netball and sports fans alike to come out to the Bushfire Relief Fundraiser to help us raise as much as we can for the victims of the bushfire crisis.”
