SA will see a mix of sunshine and possible showers this weekend, with a frost warning for the Riverland and a flood warning for inland rivers.

South Australia is set to brace for a mixture of sunny days and possible showers over the weekend. The weather shift includes a frost warning for the Riverland and a flood warning for inland rivers.

Starting with today’s weather in Adelaide, a maximum of 19 degrees is expected with clear skies. Light winds will persist throughout the day.

Over the next few days, the city will continue to experience mostly sunny conditions, with daytime temperatures on Saturday peaking at around 19 degrees and dipping to a low of 9 degrees.

The high will rise slightly to 21 degrees on Sunday, with the later part of the weekend seeing a shift from a sunny morning to possible showers in the afternoon. An overnight low of 10 degrees is forecast.

As the new week begins, the likelihood of showers increases, particularly on Monday and Tuesday. Tuesday is expected to bring more persistent rain and a cooler maximum of 15 degrees.

The changing weather pattern is influenced by a high-pressure system currently over the eastern states, which will continue moving east across the Tasman Sea. This will extend a ridge over South Australia, maintaining a northerly airstream. A cold front is set to move over the state’s western and southern parts on Sunday, bringing cooler and wetter conditions for the week ahead.

A frost warning has been issued for the Riverland forecast district. Temperatures down to -2 degrees are expected on Friday morning, posing risks such as damage to sensitive plants and crops.

A flood warning remains in effect for the inland rivers of South Australia, including elevated water levels at Warburton and Cooper Creeks.
