Adelaide weather forecast for Friday, March 28th and the weekend ahead

Here’s your 7-day forecast for Adelaide. Be vigilant with marine wind warnings, and urgent flood advisories affecting regional waterways.

As Adelaide moves towards the end of March, residents can expect a continuance of mostly sunny days according to the latest forecasts from the Bureau of Meteorology. Current conditions are shaped by a weakening high-pressure system south of the state, contributing to stable and fairly pleasant weather across the region.

Friday sees the temperature in Adelaide reaching a comfortable maximum of 32°C under mostly sunny skies. The city will experience east to southeasterly winds ranging from 15 to 20 km/h, shifting to a south to southeasterly direction by late afternoon, and returning to east to southeasterly in the evening.

The weekend will extend the sunny weather trend, with Saturday forecasted to have a minimum of 16°C and maximum of 28°C. The winds will start from the east to southeasterly direction at 15 to 20 km/h, increasing and becoming southerly from 25 to 35 km/h during the morning. It will strengthen further late in the afternoon to speeds between 35 and 50 km/h in a south to southeasterly direction.

Sunday will likely be slightly cooler with a low of 14°C and a high of 25°C. The conditions will remain mostly sunny, with persistent strong southeasterly winds ranging from 35 to 50 km/h throughout the day.

Through the remainder of the upcoming days into early next week, Adelaide anticipates continued sunshine with daily temperatures hovering around the mid-20s. This pattern is consistent with the wider South Australian forecast which predicts minimal rainfall except for possible light showers near coastal areas and isolated rain in the northeast due to extending effects of a trough that is crossing from New South Wales.

Meanwhile, the Bureau of Meteorology has issued multiple warnings including a marine wind warning for Saturday in Upper West Coast, Lower West Coast, Central Coast, South Central Coast, Spencer Gulf, Gulf St Vincent, Investigator Strait, Upper South East Coast and Lower South East Coast.

There is also an initial flood warning due to significant water levels in the Cooper Creek at Innamincka, which are above the causeway and rising rapidly. Residents and those venturing near these or affected water bodies should remain vigilant and follow safety advisories issued by local authorities.
