Adelaide is set for a variable weekend of weather ahead, according the Bureau of Meteorology. The forecast indicates a mixture of showers, partly cloudy skies, and intermittent storms, with temperatures fluctuating across the state.
Today Adelaide can expect the weather to remain unsettled with a maximum of 25 degrees. Showers are likely, accompanied by a potential afternoon storm. Tomorrow the unsettled pattern will give way to slightly cooler temperatures and partly cloudy skies, with the maximum dropping to 22 degrees and a minimum of 12 degrees. The chance of rain is relatively low, but a shower at night cannot be ruled out.
The weather will take a turn on Sunday, with showers becoming more prevalent and temperature highs cooling further to 20 degrees. The chance of rain is high at 90 per cent, mostly concentrated in the afternoon. As we enter the new week, temperatures will continue to decrease slightly. Monday will see a maximum of 19 per cent with one or two showers across the day.
Looking further ahead, the showers are expected to continue intermittently throughout Tuesday and Wednesday, with highs of 21 degrees and 20 degrees respectively. The skies will remain mostly cloudy during this period.
Across the larger South Australian region, a broad low pressure trough impacting the western parts will move eastwards across central and eastern districts by the end of Friday before being replaced by a high pressure ridge. This transition will see isolated showers and thunderstorms initially, which will gradually ease. However, come Saturday, isolated light showers and the remnants of storms will persist, especially about the northern and southern coastal areas.
Temperatures will generally be below average, especially in western parts of the state where the contrast will be more marked. Conditions in the north will see mostly sunny skies by Monday, with maximum temperatures remaining below the seasonal average. Detailed rainfall predictions suggest accumulations will vary, with isolated heavier falls in the far northwest and the southern Mount Lofty Ranges.
Happy Friday!
