Adelaide weather forecast for Monday June 16th and the days ahead

Expect showers and cloudy skies at the start of the week to mostly sunny conditions by Thursday, according to the latest from the Bureau of Meteorology.

Adelaide is set to experience varied weather conditions in the next few days, ranging from showers to predominantly sunny skies, indicated by the Bureau of Meteorology. Adelaideans will find some reprieve from the rain later in the week after enduring showers and cooler temperatures early on.

On Monday, 16 June 2025, Adelaide’s maximum temperature is anticipated to hit 16 degrees with a high likelihood of showers, especially towards the late morning and early afternoon. Wind conditions are expected to shift from north to northwesterly at speeds of 25 to 35 km/h before moving westerly around midday.

The weather will slightly improve by Tuesday, 17 June, with temperatures ranging from a minimum of 10 degrees to a maximum of 16 degrees. Although still cloudy, the city will see a medium chance of morning showers and lighter westerly winds that will calm by the early afternoon.

Wednesday will bring about cloudier skies, yet the prospects of rain will decrease significantly. The temperature will oscillate around a maximum of 16 degrees. Winds will be light and variable at first, turning northwesterly to northeasterly at speeds of 15 to 20 km/h during the morning.

As for the broader South Australian outlook, a cold front moving across the southern regions today is pairing with strong northwesterly winds near the southern coasts. This weather scenario will transition on Tuesday as a ridge of high pressure begins to stabilize weather conditions, leading to a drier atmosphere and clearer skies towards the end of the week.

In terms of specific warnings, there are active marine wind warnings for regions including the Lower West Coast, Central Coast, South Central Coast, Spencer Gulf, Investigator Strait, Upper South East Coast, and Lower South East Coast, where strong wind conditions are anticipated through to Tuesday, 17 June 2025.

There is a flood warning for the inland rivers, particularly affecting areas surrounding Warburton River at Poothapoota Waterhole and Cooper Creek at Walkers Crossing and Coongie Lakes. Elevated river levels indicate that floodwaters from Warburton River are reaching southern parts of Kati Thanda-Lake Eyre and will continue to do so for several weeks.
