Adelaide weather forecast for Monday March 16th and the days ahead

Here’s the weather for March 16th and a look at what’s to come for the rest of the week.

Adelaide is starting the week with wet conditions, as widespread rain moves through the state before clearer skies and warmer temperatures return later in the week.

Today, the city will see cloudy skies with a very high chance of rain and a top of 23 degrees. Rainfall totals between 6 and 15mm are possible across the day. Southeasterly winds of 15 to 20 km/h will ease and become light early in the morning. The UV Index is forecast to reach 9, rated Very High, with sun protection recommended between 9:50am and 4:50pm.

Conditions will ease on Tuesday, with partly cloudy skies and a maximum of 27 degrees following a morning low of 17 degrees. Winds will remain southeasterly at 15 to 25 km/h, with only a slight chance of rain throughout the day.

Wednesday will see similar conditions, with partly cloudy skies and temperatures ranging from a minimum of 17 degrees to a top of 28 degrees. There is a slight chance of a morning shower across northern suburbs, though most areas are expected to remain dry. Southeasterly winds will continue at 15 to 25 km/h.

Warmer weather returns later in the week. Thursday is forecast to reach 29 degrees under mostly sunny skies after a minimum of 17 degrees, followed by another mostly sunny day on Friday with the same 17 to 29 degree temperature range.

Saturday will bring sunny skies and a maximum of 28 degrees after a morning low of 17 degrees. Conditions will remain warm and settled into Sunday, which is forecast to reach 29 degrees with mostly sunny skies following a minimum of 15 degrees.

Across South Australia, showers are expected to extend statewide through Monday, tending to rain across the north and southeast where locally heavy falls are possible. There is also a chance of thunderstorms across northern parts of the state.

Rain is expected to continue across northern districts into Tuesday and Wednesday, with locally heavy falls possible in the northeast. By Thursday, showers are expected to ease across most areas, although rainfall will continue across pastoral districts.

Forecast rainfall totals to the end of Thursday are expected to reach between 5 and 15mm across southern agricultural areas, increasing to 15 to 30mm across northern agricultural districts, pastoral regions and the far southwest. Parts of the north could see totals of 50 to 100mm, with isolated areas potentially receiving even higher amounts.

Happy Monday!
