Adelaide can anticipate variable weather conditions for the beginning of the week, ranging from sunny skies to potential thunderstorms, according to the latest forecasts from the Bureau of Meteorology.
For the remainder of Monday, Adelaide residents should prepare for a partly cloudy day with a medium chance of showers. These showers are expected to become less likely by late afternoon and evening. There is also a potential for a thunderstorm during the afternoon and early evening, which may be severe in parts of the North West Pastoral district and northern agricultural areas. The region can expect light east to southeasterly winds of 15 to 20 km/h, turning light in the late evening.
Temperatures are anticipated to reach a maximum of 27°C, with possible rainfall of up to 2 mm in some areas.
Looking ahead to Tuesday, 12 November, the weather is set to improve with a forecast of mostly sunny skies and a significant decrease in the chance of rain – down to just 10%. However, there remains a slight chance of showers about the hills, most likely during late morning and early afternoon. Conditions elsewhere should remain dry. Winds are expected to take on a northwest to southwesterly direction at speeds of 15 to 25 km/h, then tending southwesterly early in the afternoon. Minimum temperatures will begin at 15°C, climbing to a maximum of 26°C.
Wednesday, 13 November will continue to see partly cloudy conditions with a 10% chance of rain across the Adelaide area. Like Tuesday, there’s a slight chance of showers over the hills and southern suburbs, with virtually no chance of rain elsewhere. The area will experience south to southwesterly winds ranging from 20 to 30 km/h.
The weather situation across South Australia involves a broad trough of low pressure over the state, which is expected to move northeastwards and be confined to the north by later Tuesday. Following this, a ridge of high pressure will develop and push over the south. A front embedded in the west to southwesterly flow around the ridge will clip the southeast on Wednesday.
A Strong Wind Warning will be in effect for the Spencer Gulf area on Tuesday, 12 November.
Overall, the weather across Adelaide and parts of South Australia will see a mixture of sunny spells, cloudiness, and isolated showers, with fluctuating temperatures close to seasonal averages.
