Adelaide is in for a cool and occasionally damp week, with the Bureau of Meteorology predicting scattered showers and fluctuating temperatures across the days ahead. A trough sitting over South Australia is stirring things up, bringing unsettled conditions to much of the state.
Today, Adelaide will reach a top of around 17 degrees, with showers likely through the morning delivering up to 5mm of rain before easing off into the afternoon. The skies should start to clear by evening as the southwesterly winds settle.
Tuesday is looking a little brighter, with cloudy skies and a touch of early fog around the hills. Temperatures will climb slightly to around 19 degrees, and while a light shower can’t be ruled out, it should stay mostly dry with mild winds shifting northwesterly later in the day.
By Wednesday, Adelaide should see partly cloudy conditions and a top near 20 degrees, but a few afternoon and evening showers could sneak in again as winds swing around to the west.
Looking further ahead, the rest of the week will bring more of that spring unpredictability, with scattered showers likely across the southern agricultural regions and coastal areas, while the north remains mostly dry. Some parts of the state could see heavier falls or even an isolated thunderstorm as the week continues.
The Bureau has lifted the previous sheep graziers warning for the South East, and while marine conditions have eased for now, strong winds are expected to return along the coast tomorrow.
