It’s officially the last day of the year! We are set for a sunny day today with a maximum of 30 degrees and no rain predicted as we finish out December. Expect light winds becoming west to southwesterly 15 to 25 km/h in the middle of the day then tending southeast to southwesterly in the evening.
As for the fire danger rating, it is high in the Mount Lofty Rangers, but there is no rating in the Adelaide Metropolitan area.
Looking ahead at the first day of the year, once again we’ll be seeing sunny skies with a maximum of 29 degrees and a minimum of 15. There will be zero chance of rain, but winds southeasterly 15 to 20 km/h turning southerly 25 to 35 km/h during the morning.
Thursday will be mostly sunny with a high of 29 degrees and a low of 14 degrees, with 5% chance of rain and winds southeasterly 20 to 30 km/h. Not to worry, the sun will be back out on Friday with a scorching 35 degrees and sunny. Once again, winds east to southeasterly 15 to 20 km/h become light during the day then west to southwesterly 15 to 20 km/h during the afternoon.
Over the next week, the UV is set to reach extreme levels 12 and 13. With these high numbers, it is recommended to wear sun protection from 8:50am to 5:40pm daily.
Until January 1st at midnight, the Bureau of Meteorology has issued strong marine wind warnings for the Upper West Coast, Lower West Coast and Spencer Gulf.
