Adelaide weather forecast for Saturday February 14th and the days ahead

Here’s your Adelaide weather for Valentine’s weekend. Spoiler alert: it’s turning it on!

Adelaide is heading into a classic late-summer stretch, with clearing cloud today giving way to a hot, mostly sunny run into early next week before a cooler change and a brief shower risk mid-week. The city will sit under the influence of a high pressure system through the weekend, keeping conditions largely dry and stable while temperatures climb into the mid-30s.

Today will finish mostly sunny after early cloud clears, with a top around 32 degrees and southeasterly winds pushing through at 15 to 25 km/h. Fire danger remains high across the Mount Lofty Ranges, and extreme UV levels mean sun protection is essential from mid-morning through the late afternoon.

Sunday continues the warming trend, reaching about 35 degrees under mostly sunny skies. Light easterly to southeasterly winds will persist, keeping conditions settled and dry for most of the metro area, with only a small chance of rain. The heat builds further into Monday, peaking near 36 degrees with plenty of sunshine and light winds shifting between easterly and northeasterly directions throughout the day.

By Tuesday, the pattern begins to change as a trough moves across southern parts of the state. Adelaide is expected to remain warm at around 34 degrees, but with a shower or two possible and increasing instability later in the day. Across South Australia more broadly, this system may bring isolated thunderstorms and patchy rainfall, generally light, particularly along the southern coasts and agricultural areas.

A cooler shift arrives mid-week. Wednesday drops back to a much milder 26 degrees under partly cloudy skies, offering some relief after the early-week heat. Conditions then settle again into a sunny and warmer end to the week, climbing to around 30 degrees Thursday and 33 degrees Friday, with dry, stable weather returning.

Across the state, the high pressure ridge will dominate through the weekend before the trough moves from the west early in the week, bringing showers and possible thunderstorms across agricultural districts and the far northeast on Tuesday. Rainfall totals are expected to remain light overall, with patchy falls generally under 3 mm and isolated coastal falls of 2 to 5 mm.

Warnings remain focused offshore, with marine wind warnings current for South Australian coastal waters through the weekend. Anyone heading onto the water should check the latest coastal and local waters forecasts for updated wind and wave conditions.

Warnings

Marine wind warnings are current for South Australian coastal waters for Saturday 14 February and Sunday 15 February. Check the latest Coastal Waters Forecast or Local Waters Forecast for information on wind, wave and weather conditions for these coastal zones.
