Adelaide is set for some milder and more settled stretch of summer weather over the coming week, following the easing of severe heatwave conditions across much of South Australia.
Today will be cloudy, with temperatures topping out around 24 degrees. There’s only a slight chance of a shower about the hills and southern suburbs, while brisk southwesterly winds gradually ease into the evening. Despite the cooler conditions, UV levels remain extreme, meaning sun protection is still essential throughout the day.
Tomorrow continues the calmer trend, with partly cloudy skies and a top of 25 degrees. Morning conditions may feel cool, with a minimum of 13 degrees, before freshening southerly to southeasterly winds keep temperatures below the recent heatwave highs.
By Monday, summer sunshine makes a confident return. Clear skies and dry conditions will push the temperature up to around 28 degrees, with light to moderate winds and a fresh sea breeze developing in the afternoon. Tuesday follows a similar pattern, warming slightly to 29 degrees and remaining sunny.
Wednesday is forecast to reach 27 degrees under partly cloudy skies, while Thursday cools a touch further to 26 degrees as cloud clears later in the day. By Friday, sunshine dominates again, with temperatures climbing back to a comfortable 28 degrees.
Across the state, a high-pressure system is becoming established south of the Bight, helping to stabilise conditions after days of extreme heat. While severe heatwave warnings have now been cancelled for coastal and western districts, some inland and eastern areas only recently saw temperatures ease following a late-week cool change.
Fire danger remains a concern, particularly in the Mount Lofty Ranges, and authorities continue to urge caution, preparation, and ongoing monitoring of conditions. Marine wind warnings also remain in place for several coastal zones, with strong to gale-force winds expected at times over the weekend.
