The weather conditions come as mid-November brings a broad low-pressure trough over northeastern South Australia, which will ebb eastward during the day.
For Saturday, the greater Adelaide region can expect partly cloudy skies with a medium chance of showers, especially later tonight, and temperatures peaking at 23°C. The winds from the west will gain strength, hitting between 15 to 25 km/h as the day progresses. This marks a gentle transition from mild fog conditions early in the morning.
Looking into Sunday, a significant drop in temperatures accompanies an increased likelihood of showers. Forecasters expect a minimum of 13°C and a maximum of just 20°C. Adelaide will see cloudy skies with a very high chance of rain, particularly likely during the afternoon and evening. Meanwhile, westerly winds will intensify, reaching speeds of 25 to 40 km/h before shifting southwesterly later in the day.
By Monday, the weather will slightly improve, although showers will persist. With temperatures ranging between 12°C and 19°C, Adelaide can expect a medium chance of showers under cloudy skies. The prevailing southwesterly winds will lighten in the evening.
A broader look at the South Australian forecast reveals patchy morning fog and isolated light showers in the southern agricultural area for today. Moving into Sunday and Monday, isolated showers continue across the southern regions with cool to mild conditions prevailing.
Currently, the Bureau of Meteorology has issued strong wind warnings for maritime areas extending through Sunday. Specifically, the Lower West Coast, Central Coast, South Central Coast, Spencer Gulf, Gulf St Vincent, Investigator Strait, Upper South East Coast, and Lower South East Coast are advised to expect strong winds.
