Happy Saturday! As the weather in Adelaide and across South Australia shifts, the Bureau of Meteorology has issued updated forecasts and warnings for the region. Residents can expect varied conditions over the next few days with a series of cold fronts affecting the area.
Starting today, Adelaide will see maximum temperatures of 20 degrees with a shower or two, with a 70% chance of rainfall ranging from 0 to 3 millimetres. Similar conditions will persist into Sunday, with temperatures holding steady and a slightly lower chance of rain at 60%. The weather will improve slightly at the beginning of the week, as Monday introduces partly cloudy skies with a mere 10% chance of rain and a high of 19 degrees.
As we move into Tuesday, the clouds will begin to clear, allowing for sunnier skies and a warmer maximum of 22 degrees. This trend towards brighter weather will continue with Wednesday reaching up to 28 degrees under clear skies. However, another shift will come by Thursday, with the temperature rising to 30 degrees while bringing back a chance of showers or two. The week will round off next Friday, returning to partly cloudy conditions with a cooler maximum of 21 degrees.
For broader South Australia, the weather situation involves a weakening high-pressure ridge over the north as a trough moves across from the west. The next few days will see showers and isolated thunderstorms primarily over the pastoral districts. By midweek, the state’s southern agricultural areas will also experience a return of showers, intensifying on Thursday before tapering off by the end of the week.
In terms of warnings, the Bureau of Meteorology has cancelled the previous warning to sheep graziers for the Mount Lofty Ranges and Mid North forecast districts. Meanwhile, updated marine wind warnings have been issued, with a strong wind warning in effect today for the Lower South East Coast and extending over Sunday to the South Central Coast, Upper South East Coast, and Lower South East Coast.
